“It’s fantastic. To have that much experience, bringing that much background [to the division], it gives our sailors what they need to be successful. To get that leg up. To do better.”~Rear Admiral John C. “Jack” Scorby, Jr., Commander, Navy Region Southeast:I call them The A-Team. Think that's a stretch? Just off the top of my head, MPSS has a retired Rear Admiral, Undersheriff, Aviation Electronics Senior Chief, Navy Commander, Drill Instructor, Master Training Specialist, CIA analyst, Army Career Counselor, FBI Agent, Anti-submarine Warfare Operator, Corrections Officer, Military Police Investigator, Chief Gunner's Mate and the last Command Master Chief at Cecil Field. All of them joined the College to help train your first responders.
I asked some high ranking military, police and fire officials what they think of the MPSS team. Here's what they had to say:
Dr. Charles E. Moreland, Director/Fire Chief, Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department: "You have the right people running the shop, and that means a lot to our firefighters because they look to people who have somewhat similar experiences in the public safety environment. They look to them to give them guidance."

Sheriff John Rutherford, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office: "I think it brings an incredible amount of credibility that comes from someone who has been there, has done that. They’ve experienced just about everything you can possibly experience in law enforcement."
