Renovated Fire Academy of the South: Dedicated to Safety

Officials from the City of Jacksonville and Florida State College were on hand to celebrate the dedication of the renovated Fire Academy of the South. The more-than-20-year partnership was solidified with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the facility and the launching of a new project, the “burn-ship,” a maritime fire-fighting simulator and a dedicated support building. The burn ship is a life-size model with multiple levels and cargo options.
