What’s up? NEXT!

By Celine McArthur Fri, April 29, 2011 2:13 pm EDT

Meet Sharla Valeski. She's the owner and designer of the Next Gallery on Laura Street in downtown Jacksonville.

It was such a good experience. I had some really great professors there who took me under their wings.”~Sharla Valeski

Sharla's a graduate of Florida State College at Jacksonville.  Michael Corby (see Corby's Corner) first visited Sharla's gallery during Art Walk in December of 2009, but it wasn't until this week's event that he discovered Sharla's ties to the College.

Michael Corby is hosting a television special about Art Walk next month and was planning his stops on the downtown route and setting up his interviews.

"If you think there's nothing to do in Jacksonville, you need to come along on this tour.  Don't follow me on Twitter--follow me on the street."

Actually, you will be able to follow him on Twitter during the program. I'll have more on that later. But now--back to our regularly scheduled programming: Alumni Spotlight.

Hear how Sharla's college experience inspired her to create her own dream job!
