Student Spotlight: Cooking Up a New Career

By FSCJ Admin Wed, January 11, 2012 3:23 pm EDT

Meet Wendy Robinson, a student in the Culinary Arts program at Florida State College at Jacksonville.

“I love the thrill of being able to prepare something for someone that I don’t know and watching them smile when they eat my food. If I can get a smile out of them, I know it was great,” says Wendy Robinson, Florida State College student.

Wendy’s journey to the culinary program started with an unfortunate event.

“I was in corporate America and due to the economy, corporate America laid me off and I decided to take another route and I chose Culinary Management here at FSCJ,” says Robinson.

Wendy is in her 4th semester of the program.

“I think FSCJ is the culinary choice because the instructors care. The instructors don’t just leave you out there,” says Robinson.
