Christine Arab: 2010 Woman Of Influence

The Jacksonville Business Journal names Florida State College Vice President of Human Resources, Dr. Christine Arab, one of this year's Women of Influence.

With this recognition, Dr. Arab joins the fine company of this year’s honorees recognized for their personal and professional accomplishments; and making this a better place to work and live, for everyone.

Dr. Arab has been involved in education and community service throughout her career, as a teacher, administrator, trainer and volunteer in public schools, colleges and universities in four states. The recipient of numerous recognitions and awards for her professional activities, her involvement in the inaugural Teen Job Opportunity Boost Summer (JOBS) program for community youth garnered her employer accolades from Mayor Peyton. Her volunteer activities include leadership in United Way/United Communities campaigns and Kiss the Pig for Literacy. She served as the 2009-2010 president of Jacksonville Community Council, Inc. (JCCI); as chair for the School Advisory Council for North Shore K-8; as a board member of Beth-El—the Beaches Synagogue; and as a mentor for a women leaders at Florida State College and in the community. Her expertise and generosity positively affect all ages and genders. She plans to return to the elementary classroom to teach exceptional children upon her retirement from Florida State College.

Celine McArthur is the Associate Vice President of Strategic Communications at Florida State College at Jacksonville. A veteran television news anchor and award-winning investigative reporter, she came to Florida State College in July of 2009 following nearly a decade of anchoring and reporting at a Jacksonville TV station, with previous stints in markets as diverse as Washington D.C. and Austin, TX. Celine earned her Master of Arts in Communications and Public Policy from American University and her Bachelor of Science in Journalism at Boston University. Her secret password is energy.
